Philip Schedler is a Professional photographer based in Johannesburg, South Africa. Born and raised in Basle, Switzerland, he has lived in South Africa for over 30 years. On completing his qualification in Professional Photography, he started his career doing editorial photography for a number of SA and international magazines. Titles have included Elle, MarieClaire, GEO and National Geographic Traveller. He later moved on to include work for a number of Advertising and Corporate clients including Motorola, Panasonic, HP, and Orient Express Hotels.

Over the years, Philip has also been commissioned to photograph some notable people in the arts and entertainment world including actress Faye Dunnaway, writer Wilbur Smith and violinist Vanessa Mae.

Political and business leaders photographed have included Nelson Mandela, Thabo Mbeki and Tokyo Sexwale.

Photographic assignments have taken him all over the world, from Finland and Russia to Mexico, Cuba, Australia and New Zealand, amongst many others.

Philip has also produced and directed a number of short films and corporate videos.

Future plans include a retrospective exhibition of his personal work, book projects and further inroads into filmmaking, producing and directing short films and commercials.
